Overview
What is health? In this program, we propose to go beyond an unequivocal discourse on health (medical or sociological) and the plurality of voices that support it. By articulating anthropological, philosophical, medical, sociological and geographical approaches, the aim here is to show how health, beyond the "silence of the organs" or the "complete physical, mental and social well-being" is indeed a process that mobilizes different logics and practices, relating to the policies of the production of knowledge and structural contexts in which these, and the practices of care, are part of the nature of the intimate relationships that are built in care. Recognizing the ethical and political dimension of health, the "Pluralist Approach of Healthcare" lecture offers a reflexive and interdisciplinary look at contemporary health issues, at the interface between research and care practices. It includes both methodological training in field investigation in the social sciences and courses looking at the issues in the field of health and oncology, as well as thematic courses on different aspects and areas of care practices.
It is aimed at two audiences: 1. social science students in initial training and destined for doctoral studies; 2. to students of human sciences in further training wishing to specialize in the field of health, and to health professionals (doctors, caregivers, health executives, clinical psychologists, social workers, etc.) wishing to constitute and deepen a reflective and societal approach to their practice – it is then possible for them to integrate directly the Master’s 2 on validation of prior learning.
The lectures are taught by teachers in anthropology, philosophy, sociology, geography and psychology, and great attention is paid to the collective discussion of research projects and the choice of varied internship locations and in touch with the different fields in the field of health.
