Overview

The Biosciences for Healthcare program of the Biology Master’s enables medical, veterinary or pharmacist students to strengthen their knowledge in different fields of biology for research purposes. It aims to offer a generalist and high-level training in biology.

Multidisciplinary approach is a crucial point of training, students choose optional electives in very diverse fields such as evolutionary sciences, immunology and microbiology, development or cellular biophysics. Students also participate in a practical elective of their choice (1- Confocal microscopy and quantification in 2-4 dimensions, 2- electron microscopy, 3- bio-modeling or 4- data analysis from massive sequencing), allowing them to be trained in the technologies currently used in research.

Although generalist, the Biosciences for healthcare course allows a certain specialization through the choice of optional electives, and laboratory internship (20 weeks in S2).

The training offers students an international outlook: all elective theoretical courses called EU Europe are given in the form of seminars in English and the research internship takes place most often in a foreign country.

Structure

Theoretical and practical optional electives allow students to choose courses from those offered by the Biosciences-Health pathway.

Compulsory electives give students general professional skills: classic English course at S3, and science communication courses in English at S4.

The S4 includes a 20-week internship in a research laboratory.

50% of this program is in French, 50% in English.
