Overview
Born of a collaborative effort between the École Normale Supérieure-PSL, EPHE-PSL, Observatoire de Paris-PSL and EHESS, the Master’s degree program in Philosophy from Université PSL offers training in philosophy that is noted for its excellence.
The program draws on the philosophy laboratories at ENS-PSL, EPHE-PSL and EHESS. The program aims to produce specialists in philosophy in a broad sense, preparing students for careers in teaching and academic research in philosophy as well as in the various fields that seek students with a background in philosophy (journalism, media, publishing, consulting).
This master's program is part of following PSL graduate programs: Translitterae and Religious studies.
Learning outcomes
The Master’s program offers comprehensive training in philosophy. While students choose from one of six academic tracks in the first year of the program, each track includes courses drawn from the other tracks, so that every student receives broad-based training. In the second year, students focus more intensively on their concentration, choosing a topic and a director for their thesis.

Admission to Master’s Year 1 (M1): Students who hold a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy.

Structure
Academic tracks
Students can choose from among six academic tracks in Year 1 of the Master’s program (M1) and seven tracks in Year 2 (M2). Each track is managed by a specific school (ENS-PSL, EPHE-PSL or EHESS), but all of the instructors participating in each track come from the various partner schools.
