About this course
The only Cultural Studies degree on offer in Australia, this program covers diverse topics of popular culture, media, gender, sexuality, globalisation and consumer culture. Using real-world examples, you will learn to analyse cultural forms and debate their significance in context.

What you’ll study
You will study:
- 4 units of study (24 credit points), including 3 core elective units of study (18 credit points),
- plus 6 units of study (6 credit points) taken from a list of electives.
The course includes a dissertation pathway for students interested in pursuing a higher degree by research after completion.

Admissions
Admission to candidature for the Graduate Certificate in Cultural Studies requires:
- a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney, with a major in a relevant subject area in the humanities or social sciences, or an equivalent qualification.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
