Examine concepts in educational administration and management, from theories and models of organisational behaviour to understanding change processes and impact on organisations. Research human resources development, management issues, other developments in education, the economy and society.
Who is it for?
If you're seeking a shorter period of study than that required for the Master of Education degree, you should consider this program. You can still choose to complete your certificate with units of study that suit your interests or specialise in Educational Leadership.

What you’ll study
To qualify for the award of Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies (Educational Leadership) candidates must complete 24 credit points, including:
- a minimum of 18 credit points of core units of study; and
- a maximum of 6 credit points of elective units of study.

Admissions
Admission to candidature requires:
- a Bachelor of Education from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either the completion of postgraduate studies, or professional experience equivalent to one year full-time in a field considered by the Faculty to be appropriate to the program of study; or
- a bachelor's degree and either the Graduate Diploma in Education or Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification; or
- a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either the completion of postgraduate studies in Education, or professional experience equivalent to two years full-time in a field considered by the Faculty to be appropriate to the program of study.
Subject to meeting progression requirements in the graduate certificate, you may apply to transfer to the Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies or the Master of Education.
A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
