What you’ll study
The International Relations program allows you to specialise in Economics, Political Economy, Peace and Conflict Studies, Sociology, Social Policy and Development, or International Law. You will gain a deep understanding of complex problem solving in a globalised world.
Candidates for the Graduate Certificate in International Relations are required to complete 24 credit points, including:
- a minimum of 12 credit points of core units of study; and
- a maximum of 12 credit points of core elective units of study.
You will be introduced to the core theories, concepts and institutions in international relations, and the history of international system. Students will also explore the role that international institutions play in shaping policy decisions at the global level.

Admission to the course requires:
- a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
