Structure
What you’ll study
Our innovative subjects – like coastal management, environmental modelling, geographic information science, ecological statistics, remotely sensed data analysis and marine and coastal law – are designed to solve real-world problems so that you can learn how to tackle the variety of challenges facing our coasts and the ocean.
By the end, you will be armed with the skills, knowledge and confidence to work in the multidisciplinary field of marine science.
You will complete:
- 12 credit points of core units of study; and
- 12 credit points of elective units of study.

Admissions
Admission to this course requires:
- a Bachelor of Science in one of the following disciplines: biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, ecology, climate and atmospheric sciences, marine science, geosciences, geography, geology environmental studies, environmental engineering, civil engineering, aquaculture, agriculture or natural resource management.
A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
