About this course
This qualification focuses on media content production in a global context. You will learn how to enhance and strengthen your written and verbal communication skills, and develop production skills in print, broadcast and online media.

This qualification is intended to meet the needs of current practicing media professionals, or those working in marketing and communications who wish to update and extend your professional skills, or explore new career directions.

What you’ll study
The Graduate Certificate in Media Practice requires the satisfactory completion of 4 units of study (24 credit points), including 2 core or compulsory units of study (12 credit points).
Other units of study are normally chosen from the list of approved electives, or undertaken in a relevant or related field, subject to the approval of the academic coordinator.

Admissions
Admission to the course requires:
- a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification; or
- equivalent professional experience of no less than three years in a relevant field such as journalism, public relations, media relations or media research.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
