About this course
Our Graduate Certificate in Medical Imaging Science provides a flexible and technologically sophisticated online program that enables medical imaging professionals to become leaders in a specialised field.

Our course is ideal for graduates of our diagnostic radiography programs or medical imaging professionals who wish to specialise or gain advanced knowledge and skills
Structure
What you’ll study
You will complete core units which develop an understanding of current concepts in:
- Medical Imaging Technologies and Applications
- Medical Imaging Data Management and Analysis
You will also pursue elective units across the medical imaging sciences or specialise in either one or two areas such as:
- computed tomography
- magnetic resonance imaging
- hybrid imaging
- breast imaging

Admissions
Admission to the course requires:
- A bachelors degree or higher award in Medical Radiation Sciences from the University of Sydney, or qualifications deemed by the Faculty to be equivalent.
- Current unconditional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or equivalent international registration.
- Evidence of any other minimum standards specified by the Faculty of Medicine and Health.
For domestic applicants, the Indigenous Facilitated Entry Scheme and the Rural Applicants Facilitated Entry Scheme are available for eligible applicants.
A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
