Gain a contextual understanding of core historical and theoretical developments in museum and heritage studies. You will learn the frameworks for managing collections and sites and develop a practical understanding of the modes of interpretation used in the museum and heritage sector.

This qualification is suited to those looking to bridge the connection of museum and heritage with the public, creating meaning through history and how the public engages and values museums and heritage, including sites of trauma, commemoration and memorialisation.

What you’ll study
Candidates for the Graduate Certificate in Museum and Heritage Studies are required to complete 24 credit points, including:
- a minimum of 6 credit points of core units of study; and
- a minimum of 6 credit points of core elective units of study; and
- a maximum of 12 credit points from elective units of study.

Admission to the course requires:
- a bachelor's degree or higher award from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
