Structure
What you’ll study
The Graduate Certificate in Political Economy provides extensive knowledge of key trends underlying the global economy and its transformation.
You can undertake Elective units from other disciplines, combining political economy with economics, public policy or international relations to enhance your existing qualifications in political economy, economics, business, finance or other social sciences.
You will complete 24 credit points including:
- a minimum of 6 credit points of core unit of study; and
- a maximum of 18 credit points from selective units of study.

Admission to the course requires:
- a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification; or
- evidence of a minimum of three years recent and relevant professional experience.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
