By bringing together the myriad streams of building economics, indoor environmental quality, and environmental performance, this program produces built environment professionals with a strategic grasp of the challenges of building design, service provision, and operations.

This course is suited to graduates from a range of disciplines including the Bachelor of Architecture and Environments as well as science, engineering, architecture, building, and planning.

What you’ll study
This diploma is designed to equip you with the professional skills to ensure maximum operational efficiencies, as well as optimal comfort and health outcomes for occupants of corporate and residential environments. It looks to close the gap that exists between the designers, construction teams, and facility managers in building projects, using an integrated approach to address the needs of the property
The program integrates the various components of the built environment, namely:
- Architectural and Building Services (design and operations),
- Passive and Active Sustainability,
- Strategic and Operational Facility Management, and
- Property Economics (highlighting return on investment principles).
The Graduate Diploma will provide you with a foundation for the more intensive theoretical and practical work undertaken in the Master of Architectural Science (High Performance Buildings).

Admissions
Admission to this course requires:
- a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification; or
- completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate certificate with an average mark of at least 70 across all units attempted for the award.
Graduate Diploma students may apply to upgrade to the Masters at the completion of their program (by maintaining a credit average over the course of study).
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
