Structure
What you’ll study
Taught partly at Sydney College of the Arts, you will have access to our gallery spaces, art studios, practical expertise and shared postgraduate culture. You will benefit from collaboration with eminent institutions including the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.
We offer excellent resources, including the Schaeffer Library Australia's finest dedicated modern and contemporary art library. Enjoy a vibrant calendar of social events, research seminars, an active student association and access to the University's art collections and galleries.
You will complete 48 credit points, including:
- 12 credit points of core units of study; and
- 18 credit points of core elective units of study; and
- maximum of 18 credit points of elective units of study.

Admissions
Admission to candidature for the Graduate Diploma in Art Curating requires:
- a bachelor's degree with a major in Anthropology, Archaeology, Art History, Cultural Geography, Cultural Studies, Education, English, Gender Studies, History, Indigenous Studies or related field and a minimum 60% average calculated over the whole degree, from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification; or
- completion of the Graduate Certificate in Art Curating with a minimum credit (65%) average, or an equivalent qualification.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
