About this course
Our Graduate Diploma in Biomedical Science (Infection and Immunity) is designed to meet the rapidly growing demand in research and the biomedical industry for graduates who are trained in state-of-the-art clinical laboratory techniques.

Our course is suitable for recent science and health graduates as well as established scientists or clinicians who want to advance their careers in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.
Structure
What you’ll study
In the Graduate Diploma in Biomedical Science (Infection and Immunity) you’ll study 36 credit points, including:
- 2 x 6 credit point core units in Clinical Laboratory Science and Principles in Immunology.
- 24 credit points of stream selective units spanning Virology, Bacteriology, Clinical Immunology and Immunotherapy; or
- 1 x 6 credit points of an elextive unit of study.

Admissions
Admission to this course requires:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher award in science, medical or veterinary science, biomedical science, health science or a health-related discipline from the University of Sydney, or qualifications deemed by the Faculty to be equivalent;
- Or completion of embedded Graduate Certificate.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.5 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 20 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 22 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 61 in each band
