About this course
Our Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology is a fully online degree with optional face-to-face components for clinicians and clinical researchers. You will learn the skills needed to generate high quality clinical research and interpret research evidence to improve patient care outcomes.

Structure
What you’ll study
Our Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology consists of 36 credit points (cp), including 12cp of core units and 24cp of elective units. Students must select a minimum of 18cp from Part A Electives and a maximum of 6cp from Part B Electives.
You will receive rigorous, structured end-to-end training enabling you to contribute at all stages along the clinical research pathway – concept, design, statistical analysis, translating into practice and implementing in policy and guidelines.
Our clinical epidemiology programs are designed with busy professionals in mind. They can be completed 100% online, with part and full-time study options available. Some subjects have optional face-to-face components for students who want some on-campus experience.

Admissions
Admission to the course requires:
- a medical degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification; or
- a bachelors degree in a health-related discipline with first or second class honours from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification; or
- a pass bachelors degree in a health-related discipline from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification. Applicants must have completed work equivalent to a first or second class honours bachelors degree or pass a preliminary examination(s) as prescribed by the Faculty; or
- completion of the first 4 years of an undergraduate medical degree that is accredited by the Australian Medical Council, and a letter of recommendation from the head of clinical school/medical program supporting concurrent enrolment while completing degree requirements.
All students entering the program are expected to have some clinical experience.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
