Develop your fiction, nonfiction, poetry and life writing. Gain deep understanding of relevant theories and histories as you learn core skills of creative writing, structuring, and editing. Access Sydney’s literary life through a constant calendar of readings, events, and celebrated visitors.

Structure
Candidates for the Graduate Diploma in Creative Writing must complete 48 credit points of units of study including:
- 18 credit points from selective units of study
- a maximum of 30 credit points from elective units of study, including two workshop selective units of study.

Admissions
Admission to candidature to the course requires:
- a bachelor's degree with a minimum 60 percent average calculated over the whole degree, from the University of Sydney, including a major in a relevant subject area in the humanities or social sciences, or an equivalent qualification; or
- completion of the requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Creative Writing with a minimum credit (65 percent) average, or an equivalent qualification.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall including a minimum result of 6.0 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 7.0 in Writing
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 25 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall including a minimum result of 54 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 68 in Writing
