About this course
This program will deepen your understanding of the role of design in today’s business landscape and allow you to apply design thinking in practice. You’ll learn how to use design as a framework for solving complex problems and have an opportunity to apply design methods to real-world scenarios.

Structure
What you’ll study
Through a combination of core units, advanced core units and electives you will acquire broad skills in communication, information literacy, inventiveness, and critical thinking.
You can choose to focus on Design Innovation or on Strategic Design in your Major Project. Depending on your focus, you will learn about the principles of design-led innovation, developing strategies for innovation and devising practices that lead to a strategic advantage in the market.
The Graduate Diploma will provide you with a foundation for the more intensive theoretical and practical work undertaken in the Master of Design.

Admissions
Admission to this course requires:
- a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification.
Graduate Diploma students may apply to upgrade to the Masters at the completion of their program (with an average mark of at least 70).
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
