About this course
Build your technical expertise by developing skills in communicating ideas clearly to athletes, organising training sessions for maximum impact, giving and receiving feedback, using technology as a coaching tool, planning training programs, and remaining up-to-date with coaching trends.

The course has been designed for both elite-level coaches and experienced elite athletes seeking to become coaches.
Structure
What you’ll study
To qualify for the award of Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies (Sports Coaching) you are required to complete a total of 36 credit points, including:
- a minimum of 5 units of study (30 credit points) from this specialisation, comprising:
- a minimum of 4 units (24 credit points) of core units; and
- a minimum of 1 unit (6 credit points) of elective units; plus
- a maximum of 1 unit of study (6 credit points) of postgraduate Education units from any specialisation within the Master of Education program

Admissions
Admission to candidature requires:
- a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification and either the completion of relevant postgraduate studies or a minimum of two yearscoaching/sporting experience at an elite level; or
- Level 2 National Coaching Accreditation Scheme accreditation or equivalent and either the completion of relevant postgraduate studies or a minimum of four yearscoaching/sporting experience at an elite level.
A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
