About this course
A flexible, specialist postgraduate qualification in health law, this degree provides wide-ranging interdisciplinary coverage of contemporary legal and social issues in health care. It provides a unique opportunity for dialogue between these professions on current legal and ethical issues in health.
Who is it for?
If you are not ready to commit to undertaking the Master of Health Law, the Graduate Diploma in Health Law is a good place to start. This course is designed lawyers or non-lawyers who wish to upgrade their qualifications or advance their career in legal or healthcare professions.
Structure
What you’ll study
You will complete 24 credit points, which is equivalent to 4 units of study. There are two compulsory units of study, Health Care and Professional Liability and Information Rights in Health Care. Students without a law degree must also complete the unit, Legal Reasoning and the Common Law System. The remaining units of study are selected from a wide range of relevant electives.

Admissions
Admission to candidature for the Graduate Diploma in Health Law requires a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney; or an equivalent qualification.
Students who do not hold a law degree or equivalent from a common law jurisdiction must either have completed or be concurrently enrolled in LAWS6825 Legal Reasoning and the Common Law System prior to undertaking other law units of study.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
