Structure
What you’ll study
The Master of Design (Design Innovation) (Strategic Design) is a postgraduate coursework degree that will enhance your analytical, creative thinking, communication and information literacy skills, and prepare you to apply them in a practical industry setting.
You will complete foundation and advanced core units in both design innovation and strategic design, along with a capstone unit where you will explore industry or research-based design problems or situations. This capstone will allow you to interact with industry professionals and address real-world problems.
Additionally, you will be able to build specialisation and tailor your learning through a range of elective units.

Admissions
Available places will be offered to qualified applicants in the order in which complete applications are received, according to the admissions criteria listed below.
- a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification with an average mark of 65, or
- completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate diploma with an average mark of 70.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
