Who is it for?

Our Master of Digital Health and Data Science is designed for professionals looking to expand their digital science expertise to health data, or expand their skills in data science to specialise in digital health.

Structure

What you’ll study

Our Master of Digital Health and Data Science is co-designed and co-taught by the School of Computer Science in the Faculty of Engineering, and Biomedical Informatics and Digital Health in the Faculty of Medicine and Health.

All units have been specifically developed to provide you with advanced data science skills in the context of healthcare.

You will complete:

  • 4 x core subjects:
    • Unit BIDH5000: Implementation Science in Digital Health
    • Unit BIDH5003 Foundations of Digital Health
    • Unit HTIN5005: Applied Healthcare Data Science
    • Unit HTIN5006: Foundations of Healthcare Data Science
  • 1 x data science-related elective subject
  • 1 x digital health-related elective subject
  • a capstone project with industry to gain real-world experience sharing your data insights with hospitals, clinicians and primary health networks.

Recognising that the digital health workforce runs on the strength of multi-disciplinary teams, in this course you’ll learn from and work with engineers, computer specialists, data scientists, and health professionals on projects that come directly from industry and the healthcare sector.

Qualifications

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:

  • an honours bachelor’s degree, from the University of Sydney in a cognate discipline with at least a credit average (65 percent), or qualifications deemed to be equivalent; or
  • a bachelor’s degree, from the University of Sydney in a cognate discipline with at least a credit average (65 percent), or qualifications deemed to be equivalent and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience; or
  • completed the Graduate Certificate in Digital Health and Data Science with a minimum of 65% credit average.

International qualifications

For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
