Our Master of Medical Imaging Science provides a flexible and technologically sophisticated online program that enables medical imaging professionals to become leaders in a specialised field.
Who is it for?
Our degree is ideal for graduates of diagnostic radiography programs or medical imaging professionals who wish to specialise or gain advanced knowledge and skills.

What you’ll study
The Master of Medical Imaging Science is an advanced practice postgraduate coursework degree for medical imaging professionals. The course develops leadership knowledge and skills to implement new and optimised imaging techniques to improve patient and healthcare outcomes.
You will complete core units that cover the state of the art in medical imaging technology and image data handling and analysis. Electives are based on your chosen specialisation and areas of particular interest. In the final semester capstone unit you will use all your skills to develop an evidence-based practice change proposal in the area of your specialisation.

Admission to candidature for the Master of Medical Imaging Science requires one of the following qualifications, awarded in the fields of Medical Imaging Sciences, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine:
- A master's degree; or
- a bachelors degree with a credit average; or
- an honours bachelor’s degree; or
- completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate diploma or graduate certificate in this discipline; or
- qualifications deemed by the faculty to be equivalent to one of the above;
and
- current unconditional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or equivalent international registration.
- evidence of any other minimum standards specified by the Faculty of Medicine and Health.

International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
