About this course
Our course provides you with the core knowledge and clinical decision-making skills required for day-to-day paediatric practice in a wide range of areas, including allergy, immunisation, infectious diseases and child obesity.
Who is it for?
Our course is suitable for all doctors interested in child and adolescent health.
We welcome all doctors regardless of experience, who wish to pursue a career in paediatrics or to improve their knowledge and skills in child and adolescent health.
Structure
What you’ll study
You will complete 48 credit points of units of study including:
- 12 credit points of compulsory units of study
- 24 credit points of stream specific units of study
- 12 credit points of stream specific or general elective units of study.
The stream specific units are designed to update your core knowledge in the relevant subject area and to enhance clinical practice with case-based scenarios that focus on current evidence-based best practice.
This course is offered through our interactive online learning environment, giving you the flexibility to tailor your study schedule around your lifestyle.
All stream specific units are online. You may find however; a couple of electives do have a face-to-face component. These can be avoided depending on your individual preferences.

Admissions
Admission to the course requires:
- a medical degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.5 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 20 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 22 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 61 in each band
