About this course
Our Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) is a practical and clinically focused course that will refine your ability to diagnose, investigate and manage common and important diseases in adults. It will guide your care of patients and will be readily integrated into your daily clinical work.
Who is it for?
Our course is designed for medical graduates, trainees and established clinicians working in emergency medicine, intensive care medicine or adult general practice, as well we international medical graduates who are interested in the field of internal medicine.
Structure
What you’ll study
The Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) is a postgraduate coursework degree that will refine your ability to diagnose, investigate and manage common and important diseases in adults. Graduates from this program will acquire foundational knowledge expected for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) Basic Training examination, in addition to advanced knowledge in areas of subspecialty practice. Students will complete core units in addition to stream-specific units in internal medicine and elective units in other areas.

Admission to the course requires:
- a medical degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.5 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 20 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 22 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 61 in each band
