About this course
Our Master of Science in Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health) aims to help students develop nuanced knowledge and effective skills in dealing with the psychosocial contexts, prevention strategies and management techniques for sexual and reproductive health issues.
Who is it for?
Our course is designed for a range of graduates including health-related professionals, social workers, public health officers, laboratory scientists or students who are interested in working in the field of HIV and STIs, psychosexual therapy/sexology, sexual and reproductive health.
Structure
What you’ll study
You will complete 48 credit points of units of study including:
- 12 credit points of compulsory units of study;
- 24 credit points of stream specific units of study; and
- 12 credit points of stream specific or general elective units of study.
You will be able to complete a generalist sexual health degree or choose your elective units from within one of 4 specialisations.
If you choose a public health or a generalist 'no speciality' pathway all units of study will be completely online.
If you choose HIV and STIs or Pyschosexual therapy and reproductive health and fertility, these specialisations are also mostly online, however they do require a 2 week intensive face-to-face session on campus.
Both options are extremely flexible and will allow you to tailor your study schedule around your lifestyle.

Admissions
Admission to the Master of Science in Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health) requires:
- successful completion of an embedded degree program (Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma) with a minimum credit average; or
- a bachelor degree in a health or science-related discipline with honours; or
- a bachelor degree plus a postgraduate degree in a health or science-related discipline; or
- a bachelor degree in a health or science-related discipline plus a minimum of 12 months relevant work experience.
International qualifications
For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution, and qualification.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.5 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 20 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 22 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 61 in each band
